ONLINE MEDIA DIRECTOR – NYC or Princeton
 
We're looking for an experienced leader with the capability to manage and grow our online media planning and buying practice. This position is ideal for someone looking to work in a high-performance yet casual environment – free of the corporate BS. You’ll have the latitude and responsibility to do what’s right for Clients.
 
The Online Media Director leads a team in the conception and delivery of innovative, targeted, results driven online campaigns to achieve Client goals. This role involves unearthing opportunities and communicating insights to optimize the development of the media plan, and flawless execution.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervise development, implementation and optimization of comprehensive media plans and strategy to achieve Client objectives
  • Scope, develop, and lead your team to implement online campaigns across multiple publishers / networks
  • Oversee and monitor ongoing campaign performance, ensuring campaigns are executed properly and are optimized to achieve Client expectations
  • Present media recommendations to executive-level Client leaders. Demonstrate to Clients how proposed media solutions will produce expected returns
  • Guide team in strategic post-campaign analysis and provide recommendations for future initiatives.
  • Ensure that Client relationships continue to be strengthened by quality of deliverables and satisfaction with the results.
  • Direct our Online Media practice profitably by achieving Client goals and in support of overall company objectives.
  • Lead relationships with publishers, including pricing negotiation
  • Lead the communications with management on account and team status
  • Identify / assess emerging online marketing trends for Client opportunities
  • Effectively continue the development of the team’s understanding of industry trends, planning and/?or buying strategies and execution.
  • Develop relevant white papers, case studies and POVs for presentation to internal and external audiences.? Work with CEO, Business Development, and fellow practice leaders to capitalize on speaking engagement and publication opportunities
 
  • Work with senior management to forecast Client revenue and guide resource and related expenses necessary to deliver on plan
  • Actively participate in the overall management of the company, offering solutions to business problems and supporting senior management decisions and direction.
  • Support business development and other group directors in the identification, prioritization, positioning, high-level estimation, and scoping of new opportunities. Leads and/or supports the business development team in the creation of presentations and proposals to win new client business.
  • Lead, manage and develop media team, including responsibility for developing staff to independently assess opportunities and capitalize on them with the appropriate online media strategy
  • Develop process improvements and best practices to ensure consistency, flexibility and efficiency resulting in solutions that meet or exceed clients’ expectations.
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 7-10+ years of progressive levels of responsibility in online media planning, buying and management, & direct response ROI-driven online campaigns
  • 5+ years of agency experience
  • 3+ years of experience managing media-buying teams (minimum spend $15-20 million per year)
  • Extensive experience in negotiating pricing and purchasing online media inventory in all potential terms: CPM, CPC, CPA, CPL 
  • Strong command of media research, tracking, and reporting resources (DART, Atlas, ComScore, MRI, Evaliant/Kantar Media, Nielsen/NetRatings, Compete, @Plan. etc.) 
  • Ability to ‘own the room’ and lead persuasive presentations to all levels - consultatively driving accounts and opportunities forward  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication – the ability to clearly and concisely say what you mean so others understand and follow, regardless of the medium 
  • Hands-on experience with media exchanges, DSPs, RTB, and all self-serve platforms

  • Advanced computer skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
